Southern Italy is the setting for this beautiful film, where an Orthodox Rabbi brings his family to harvest etrogim (citrons) for Sukkot. Two worlds collide as the Rabbi’s daughter, Esther, looks for a way out of her religious life, and Elio, a non-Jewish farmer, strives to keep his father’s traditions alive. Both of their lives take unexpected detours, as their forbidden relationship develops, and they help one another find freedom.
