Artist Talk & Opening Reception
Join us for the opening reception and artist talk. Though its origin as a Jewish folk craft is unknown, paper-cutting became widely popular among Jewish communities in Europe in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Traditionally paper-cuts have been made into mizrach signs, ketubot, and ephermeral décor for Purim. Contemporary artist Anna Kronick’s fresh take on the medium fuses Torah stories, Yiddish songs, and personal memories.
