Book Festival: Book Banning Education Panel
This year’s Festival will be covering the timely issue of book banning. Books are at the center of this illuminating panel discussion on censorship and its effects on society. Each of our panelists brings his or her own unique perspective with a collective goal of discussing this issue from a variety of angles and how book banning affects so many different parts of our society.
Panelists will include Debby Kerner, a former Harris County school board member; Valerie Koehler, owner of Blue Willow Bookshop; Mark Trachtenberg, an appellate attorney with expertise in the public school system; and Congregation Emanu El Senior Rabbi Oren Hayon. Evan Mintz, Director of Communications for Arnold Ventures and former deputy opinion editor for the Houston Chronicle will moderate the panel.
This event is FREE and registration is required.
