Book Festival Opening Night: Martin Fletcher
Join us for opening night of the Ann and Stephen Kaufman Jewish Book & Arts Festival featuring Martin Fletcher and his book Teachers: The Ones I Can’t Forget.
Throughout his legendary career as an NBC News foreign correspondent and bureau chief, Martin Fletcher was often tasked with encountering people on the worst days of their life. Through his memories and the book’s powerful images, he reflects on the lessons learned from his “teachers” – the ones who, no matter the circumstances, persevered. At a time when news coverage is often dismissed as biased this is a welcome reminder of the integrity, devotion and empathy that goes into authentic global reporting.
Inspiring and entertaining, the Ann and Stephen Kaufman Jewish Book & Arts Festival annually delivers a variety of opportunities for the community to learn and experience Jewish literary, culture and performing arts. The Festival is one of the city’s leading cultural and literary events, attracting a large and varied audience of all ages and is recognized as one of the largest Jewish Book & Arts Festivals in the nation.
