Indoor Playscape
The indoor playscape at the J is a fun year-round place to beat the heat, escape the rain and make new friends. Climbing through a tunnel, racing down the slide or driving the firetruck, your child’s imagination will run wild with curiosity inspired in the J’s indoor playscape! There is also a dedicated infant play area where little ones can safely practice crawling and climbing.
Indoor Playscape Rules
- THIS SPACE IS DESIGNED FOR CHILDREN AGES 5 AND YOUNGER ONLY. Children over the age of 5 are not allowed in the playscape.
- ALL CHILDREN MUST HAVE A PARENT/GUARDIAN PRESENT INSIDE THE SPACE to provide supervision for the entire visit.
- SHOES ARE NOT PERMITTED. Cubbies are available to store personal items and shoes during your visit.
- NO FOOD IS PERMITTED IN THE SPACE aside from pre-made bottles for infants or a closed cup/bottle with water for older children and adults.
- DIAPER CHANGING IS NOT PERMITTED. Restrooms are available in the hallway outside of the indoor playscape. Changing tables can also be found in the family restrooms and locker rooms across from the aquatics center.
- Members must use their Brivo pass for entry. First-time users must stop by the welcome desk to activate their door access.
- The indoor playscape is for members of the J with no reservations required.
- Non-members may purchase a one-day guest pass at the welcome desk. The pass is $7.00 and if the pass is not returned at the end of the day there will be a $10 card replacement fee. Cashless payment only; cash is not accepted.
- Strollers are not allowed inside the play space. Please leave strollers in the playscape foyer.
- Socks are suggested for children but not required. Adults can wear socks, or we will provide shoe covers at the entrance.
- Please be kind and courteous to others using the space.
- Language, noise level and play should be monitored by supervising parents/guardians.
- For safety and security reasons, the doors must remain closed and may not be propped open.
- Toys, balls or other items from home are not allowed in the playscape. Please report any issues, concerns or repairs to the staff at the welcome desk or call 713-729-3200 to be connected to the desk for an emergency or immediate need.
- Hours of operation are subject to change. Please check the schedule at erjcchouston.org for availability before coming to play.

- Monday – Thursday: 8:00AM – 7:00PM
- Friday: 8:00AM – 6:00PM
- Open Saturday to Health & Fitness, Tennis and Tennis Elite Members only: 8:00AM – 6:00PM
- Sunday: 8:00AM – 6:00PM
- Please note that the playscape is closed daily from 12:00PM – 1:00PM for cleaning.
Host a birthday party at the playscape!
Climb through a tunnel, race down the slide or drive the firetruck to celebrate your little one’s birthday! There is also a dedicated infant play area where little ones can safely practice crawling and climbing.
What you need to know
- Party max: 20 children
- Availability: Saturday and Sunday, year-round. Weekday daytime parties are available in the summer.
- Ages 5 and younger
- Duration: 2 hours
Your party will have exclusive use of the indoor playscape for the first hour and the second hour will be in the included party room.
Families are welcome to bring in snacks, cake, decorations and paper goods for the party. All food must be kosher or kosher style. Food is only permitted in the party room and not the indoor playscape.
Cost: $300 for 15 children; $15 per additional child
$100 deposit, non-refundable
